On December 6, 2024, the Environmental Development Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment officially released the "List of Selected Advanced and Applicable Technologies for 'Waste-Free Cities' Construction (Fourth Batch)." The "Sludge Carbonization for Producing Low-Calorific Value Biofuel Technology," independently developed by ZHGAS was successfully included.

The "Waste-Free City" is a crucial national strategy that responds to sustainable development and promotes the construction of ecological civilization. It aims to achieve the reduction, resource utilization, and harmless treatment of solid waste through innovation-driven and systematic governance, thereby leading to a comprehensive improvement in urban environmental quality.

ZHGAS has thoroughly implemented the national strategic deployments for dual  carbon goals, actively exploring innovative sludge treatment processes. With the objectives of "reduction, harmlessness, stabilization, and resource utilization," the company has developed a new sludge carbonization technology that boasts low processing costs and is environmentally friendly. This technology effectively addresses the issues prevalent in traditional sludge treatment methods, such as incomplete disposal, severe secondary pollution, and significant land waste. It also demonstrates remarkable energy-saving and carbon-reduction effects.
